Summary/Abstract: The recovery and valorization of their own traditions, including in the theorizing of international relations, is important for the countries of East Asia and able to offer them a position commensurate with the economic importance and taking over the baton of technological innovation from Western countries. De-westernization or indigenization is not a call to "aseptization" and isolation of indigenous IR theories but to the recovery of their own theoretical traditions. The Chinese academic community strives to argue its own theory of development derived from its own traditions and recent historical experience in which domestic and international political practices are linked to an algorithm of accelerated development.
