Summary/Abstract: Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark and Finland are trading partners and preferential investment destinations for Chinese investments in hi-tech as well as research and innovation cooperation, although a number of national and European policies have imposed additional regulations in recent years to limit access to know-how and technologies used in strategic areas. These measures were to be expected of an economy that has reached a level that competes with Europe and the United States, including in high-tech areas. However, these developments stimulate cooperation in the field of hi-tech, cooperation that can become the foundation of a new global technological revolution.
