Materials for a Thematic Dictionary Words Denoting Clothes and Clothing in Medieval Slavonic Manuscripts

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the development of the thematic group of nouns denoting clothes, clothing, and manner of wearing dresses that were used in medieval Slavonic manuscripts. The lexis is culled from the main palaeoslavonic lexicographical works. The dictionary of this thematic group is represented with the differentiation of the following subgroups: designations of the general concepts; dressing; types of cloths; clothing for the body, head and legs; parts of the clothing; clothing accessories; production of clothing; care of clothing; clothing as a sign of the social differentiation; clothing as an expression of the mental attitude of a person; functional differentiation of clothing; cultural and historical division of the terms.
