Summary/Abstract: According to the United Nations, 244 million people, who made up 3.3% of the world's population in 2015, live outside their own country(1). The International Labor Organization (ILO) estimates that about half of them are illegal migrant workers. These workers are usually set aside for wars, internal conflicts in their countries, increasing their economic level, and professional opportunities in another country more developed than their own. These individuals constitute approximately 4% of the total global population aged 15 and over(2). However, the total global immigrant population approaches 1 billion. International migration is an essential part of social and economic development in the global world. Migrant workers contribute to their families and their home country's economy by sending remittances to their home countries. However, it is a complex issue with difficulties in ensuring that migrant workers are protected equally, especially with regard to occupational health and safety.
