Summary/Abstract: This short note introduces a new Precucuteni site from north-eastern Wallachia. An extended field survey of the plain area near Râmnicu Sărat resulted in about 100 new archaeological sites being discovered (from Prehistory to Middle Ages). One of the sites particularly draw our attention, as the abundant artefacts scattered on its surface signalled a Chalcolithic settlement. Wattle-and-daub clumps and several stone implements were visible on about 1000 sq. meters. Various potshards and anthropomorphic figurines collected during the survey may be assigned to the Precucuteni III horizon. The growing list of Precucuteni sites in north-eastern Wallachia points out the need to reassess the boundaries of the cultural areas towards the middle of the 5th millennium BC.
