Summary/Abstract: The study addresses the urgency of tackling the climate crisis and the reflection of this issue in the life of society, politics and media in the current context of the coronavirus pandemic. The subject of our research is podcasting as a form of environmental journalism. In the study, we map the global and Slovak podcast scene, focusing on podcasts addressing topics such as environmental protection, climate protection and climate change, climate crisis, global warming, or long-term sustainability, and offer a brief content analysis. In 2020, two Slovak podcasts dedicated to these topics were created. Based on available and relevant data, we deal with current developments in podcasting, which is an already established form of audio journalism and, last but not least, summarize the reasons why the climate crisis is at the forefront of the public interest despite the pandemic and its consequences.
