Summary/Abstract: Gheorghe Spacu was one of the most remarkable Romanian scientists from the beginning of the 20th century. He started his career at the University of Iasi and completed his studies in Austria and Germany. Gheorhe Spacu had a vast activity in scientific research and also he set-up the chemistry school at the Universities of Cluj and Bucharest. He was a promoter and active sustainer of the modern scientific teaching who always looked for practical application in industrial field and fought to establish modern and complex laboratories. Gheorghe Spacu left behind a prolific scientific work. During his 45 years of activity he published 274 scientific papers in scientific national or international journals. His research in inorganic chemistry was published in 120 papers which follow a double purpose: the identification of the process of structuring some important chemical combinations (double salts, complex amines) and also the discovery of new chemical combinations. During his research he prepared about 1000 new combinations which enriched the heritage of the modern chemistry. More than 130 researches were dedicated to new qualitative and quantitative analysis methods.
