Summary/Abstract: This work analazys some of the circumestances that have in some way had an impact or have allowed for high rate of unemployment, which in turn caused a huge gap between the rich and the poor in the Macedonian society and became the primary threat for sustainable develeopment. There's realy posibility that these huge defferences will deepen even further and if don't take the necessary action to change thier lives, the poor and the unemployeedcould lose their faight in the democratic system and will look upon their representatives as mere "bigmouths". The economic activities that the entities use to express their initiatives and creativity and that enrich society are the fundamental basis for economic and social development. But the question remains : can economic and social development be achieved only through the free interaction of market forces? Do we need to create public policies that will lead to success on the market, supplement market mechanisms, sustain social stability and create a society that will promote susrainable development? The primary objectives for achieving sustainable development are: improvement and increase of the quality of life of all propale, bigger and equal opportunities and fundamental freedoms, the rule of law and respect of cultural diversity. Decreasing poverty and unemployment are the biggest chalenges that the Republic of Macedonia has been facing and undoubtembly ask for sustainable development. The alarming consequences from unemployment and poverty, which are visible in many environments, are related to their rapid increase and which all of the governments so far haven't beedn able to address with their management capacities and practices. The model and producers for the transformation of social capital enterprises has left profound consequences on the sources of income, the way of life nad of the vaules of people. Tha gain and the cost of privatization are not equally distributed which has made some social categories in our society face problems in the impementation of this process.
