Summary/Abstract: This article aims at describing how the idea of working in the translation sector has evolved for Applied Modern Languages students and graduates from the University of Franche-Comté over the past twenty years. It takes as an example Andrea Condori Díaz, a student from Peru who came to Montbéliard in 2014 with a Victor Hugo scholarship. Her experience as a translator in both France and Peru casts new light on how the job of translator evolved in the two countries and how LEA degrees can be adapted to a changing translation industry.
