Summary/Abstract: This article provides a contribution to the study of Romance languages through an analysis of the influence of various Romance languages on the lexis of the dialect of the island of Brač as it is reflected in the poetry of Stjepan Pulišelić. The literature used in this study includes nine collections of poems which share a focus on themes which are closely connected to the history of Brač and everyday life. The article provides a list of registered Romance loanwords, their classification into semantic fields and an etymological analysis of 33 terms belonging to the semantic fields of occupation and profession.
