Summary/Abstract: The paper takes on the selected theoretical background of self-regulated learning and presents some of the research in which the author addressed this issue. In the theoretical study we emphasize the need and importance of developing and enhancing the self-regulation mechanisms of a student who is preparing for a teacher's profession. In the stage of pre-gradual teachers training, it is important for students to strengthen self-regulation mechanisms and strategies and develop competencies that influence the metacognitive self-regulation of their own thinking processes.
