Summary/Abstract: The emerging media coverage of Europe and the European Union, lately referred to as European Journalism, contributes to developing the European public sphere. Which are the challenges of European media content? Which are the main features of the European audience? Are European institutions communicating Europe well enough so that both media practitioners and media audiences could be constantly interested in? Which is the typical European news framing? Are European journalism and communication reflected in the educational programs from the European states? Both academics and media professionals do highlight the importance of the European information in terms of creating knowledge of Europe and Europeans, thus developing a better participation to the European democracy. But instead of these shared opinions, European journalism is still in its early stage.
