Summary/Abstract: Analyzing from different perspectives the poet’s work, different angles of interpretation and understanding of it came to light. It was perhaps less understood that everything he wrote forms a coherent whole, each writing having unexpected relationships with the others, the poetry being related to the dramaturgy, prose or his articles, all being organicaly connected between them. Eminescu’s work was less studied from the perspective of the old Romanian literature, that he loved and admired so much. This study examines how the Bible influenced Eminescu’s work. Unlike the Romantic poets before him, Eminescu sometimes takes up passages from the Bible not to metrify, nor as a pretext for mod- ern literary comments to the text of Scripture, but just as basis for a poetic construction.
