Rural Culture as an Object of Rural Sociology

Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article is the rural culture and the ways of its interpretation. I analyze them from the perspective of rural sociology, for which it has always been an essential part of the research subject. On the basis of two book publications from 2017–2019, I try to clarify the differences between three dominant ways of discourse about rural culture. Then, I subject to a critical analysis the problem of the rural culture values, that are quite commonly, but not always in a justified way, considered particularly valuable and significantly influencing the shape of the national culture.
