Summary/Abstract: The purpose of our paper is to publish a critical edition of undiscovered earn medieval marian litany. The modern version of these text is contained in liturgical book of dominican rite - Liturgia Horarum. Proprium Officiorum Ordinis Praedicatorum (Rome 1982). Our paper consists of three parts. In the first part we explain term ‘litany’: his etymology and meaning in contemporary polish. The second part of our paper is dedicated to a history of dominicans litanies. In spite of common opinion Preachers used above all Litany of Loreto through 20th century. Just after reforms of Second Vatican Council they renewaled own medieval litany, which Order receptioned from liturgy of Aquileia at 14th century. Moreover, the main of this text is a translation of ancient marian akathist from Constantinople. The third part is a bilateral text of litany (edition from Proprium - our translation) and critical commentary. In the conclusion of our paper we describe some aspects of mariology in the context of this venerable dominican litany.
