Summary/Abstract: The main aim of the research presented in this article was to diagnose the process of talent management in small and medium-sized companies in the Lower Silesian Voivodship. In order to achieve the goal, the first part of the article explains the meaning of the term “talent” in the literature of management sciences. Then, on the basis of the research conducted (at two higher education institutions), attempts were made to answer the following questions: how companies develop employees’ talents and how they acquire talented personnel. Based on the research, conclusions that can be used to improve the talent management system in question have been drawn.
