Summary/Abstract: Globally, there is an increasing pressure on water resources, and the most water is used in agriculture sectorally. One of the most important inputs of agriculture is water. Agriculture has a strategic importance in terms of food security for all countries. To obtain high efficiency from the unit area, the need for irrigation increases. The aim of this study is to make an evaluation on the use of domestic waste water in agriculture. The use of wastewater in agriculture is also spreading globally. An area of more than 20 million hectares is irrigated by wastewater and constitutes approximately 11% of the irrigated areas. The waste water recycling capacity in Turkey was 1.2%, while the target is increased to 5% for 2023. Even this target is less than the current situation of many countries in the world. The construction of wastewater treatment facilities should be included more in development programs. It is necessary to conduct agricultural extension activities for farmers and to determine the willingness to pay by raising awareness on waste water use in agriculture.
