Summary/Abstract: According to the Jewish-Christian cultural circle, fratricide is what stands at the beginning of humanity’s history. Cain and Abel’s story is a very popular artistic theme. The reason may be the fact that the Bible tells the story very briefly and concisely, leaving many open questions. However, another reason may be that it touches on one of humanity’s deepest problems: fraternal jealousy. The topic of this paper is the teaching of the Cain-stories in secondary schools with the help of 20th and 21st century literary elaborations.
