Summary/Abstract: The article is an analysis of source materials as well as an interpretation of own research.The literature provides answers to the question of what professional predispositions related tothe work environment are manifested by socially maladjusted male youth aged 17–18. Theresearch is quantitative, equated with the positivist paradigm. It was carried out with the use ofa diagnostic survey method based on a research tool consisting of 50 statements with a threepoint scale of answers. The project was carried out in a youth educational center. The selection ofthe research group was deliberate, because it was composed of socially maladjusted boys aged17–18, towards whom increased activities related to the process of becoming independent areundertaken. The article contains a theoretical part analyzing the process of career planning.
