About the appearance of the cult of martyrs from Tyberiopol in Bulgarian society during the late 9th century and the early 10th century

Summary/Abstract: After the Christening most works of Byzantine patristic and hagiography become known in medieval Bulgaria. They are part of strong cultural influence that soon Christening Bulgarian society suffered of its Baptist . Byzantiun. Between these works there are many lifes of Christian martyrs. But martyr.s example cannot become a general sacred model for the new Christians. At the same time medieval Bulgarian society prefers different type holiness and creates own domestic saint’s model. For that reason cult of martyrs from Tyberiopol is so important about cultural development in Bulgarian lands. This cult describes special features and helps to make more precise picture of early medieval Bulgarian society
