Summary/Abstract: In the Late Antiquity in Bregalnica Basin settlements were fortified for defense and protection from enemy attacks. Some of them were a newly built fortifications, while others have been renewed during this period. They all had defensive elements that enabled more effective defense and protection of people and material goods.
