Summary/Abstract: The aim of the research was to examine whether parental upbringing actions are correlated with school adaptation indicators. The school adaptation indicators included academic achievement, commitment to school and unexcused absence. The questionnaires were applied to 834 students of third and fourth grades of secondary schools in Mostar. The sample was stratified in regard to religious affiliation, school type and grade. Hierarchical regression analyses were carried out for academic achievement, commitment to school and unexcused absence as criteria variables as well as socio-demographic variables and parental upbringing measures as a group of predictive variables. Parental upbringing measures were mostly correlated with the school commitment variable. Among parental measures, the parental supervision was the most prominent variable.
