Review of the book „The right to equal treatment“

Summary/Abstract: The book provides a summary of the first ten years of the validity of Act No. 198/2009 Coll., the Equal Treatment and Legal Recourse for Protection against Discrimination Act and the amendment of certain other Acts (the so-called Anti-Discrimination Act). The editor of the publication, Martin Šmíd, was faced with a very difficult challenge, i.e. to incorporate the contributions of twenty authors and their views on the anti-discrimination legislation both from the legal perspective and from those of other social sciences. While the chapters are arranged in a logical way, the quality of the processing of the material varies considerably. The texts provided by foreign authors are particularly outstanding as are those that address the purely legal aspects of the issues involved.
