Summary/Abstract: The subject of analysis is the international legal regulation of the activity of the ethics committees of scientific medical research with human beings. The focus of the analysis is on The Declaration of Helsinki of the World Medical Association on Ethical Principles in Human Clinical Trials (of 1964), The Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Dignity of the Human Being with regard to the Application of Biology and Medicine: Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine (the so-called Oviedo Convention) and The Additional Protocol of 2005 to the Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine on Biomedical Research.
