Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the possibilities of using lean government for improving services in Polish public administration. The first part of the article outlines the specifics of public services. Then the essence of lean management was discussed and also the examples of its use in public administration in the world. The final part of the article presents the case study of lean government implementation to improve the selected processes. The study was processed using the value stream mapping tool (VSM). The solutions to eliminate process waste and main barriers to streamlining action are presented.
