Summary/Abstract: This study was carried out in order to examine the folk songs in the Anatolian high schools music lesson teacher guide books of the Ministry of National Education (MONE) in terms of different variables. In the study, taking into account the themes of the folk songs in Anatolian high school teachers' guidebooks published by the Ministry of National Education, the sound intervals, the region where they are recorded, the geographical region where that region is located, the maqam scales, the measurement / procedure units variables. And subjected to content analysis. Themes and sub-themes were determined according to the analysis results, and the folk song pointing to each sub-theme was displayed and interpreted in the table with their codes. According to the results of the study, it was determined that the folk songs in the books have the most frequent sub-themes of love-love, the least "bar and work-imece", and the song is maximum in 9/8 unit of measure. According to the results of the study, it was suggested that the selection of folk songs in the textbooks of high schools should include as many folk songs as possible in subjects such as love, friendship and peace, nature, honesty, homeland love, and more folk songs should be included in the subjects of heroism, bravery, saying and divine.
