Summary/Abstract: This article is a short analysis of father Ioan Bizău’s book, Tradition and artistic continuity at Nicula. The contribution of the monk Ilarion Mureşan (Editura Renaşterea, 2020), and of a cultural phenomenon in Transylvania, namely the School of Glass Icons from Nicula. The movement of glass painted icons manifested itself as a real school through the magnitude of the phenomenon, the stylistic unity, the thematic richness, the originality of the transposition of the theme, the complexity of the implications of different types. The authors of the icons, otherwise simple people, turned their work into a form of struggle and confession. The second part of the book is a micromonograph of the life and activity of Archdeacon Ilarion Mureşan, who followed in the footsteps of the former iconographers.
