Summary/Abstract: The main objective of the article is to show positive changes within the scope of improving energy efficiency in the years 1997-2008. To reflect those changes an intensity indices of energy consumption are used for selected sectors of the economy. The article presents the objectives of Polish energy policy for energy efficiency and activities taken to implement them.
