Summary/Abstract: Disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of ex-combatants represent an essential process in relation to peace in the areas affected by armed conflicts. The process is materialized through an assembly of organized activities, gradually implemented in a certain area, by a multitude of governmental, nongovernmental and international actors in order to collect weapons and ammunition from belligerents, to take them off military records, prepare and introduce them in the social and economic circle within civil communities. The involvement of international actors in DDR processes is of great importance, because they have the expertise, capabilities and resources necessary to project and implement long tern programs.
