Summary/Abstract: Responsibility of public authorities is a special guarantee of the legality of a democratic state. The right to compensation is provided not only for the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, but also other legal acts of a statutory rank. Every year courts in Poland adjudicate on compensation cases, awarding them in many cases. The costs of errors of public authority are borne by the State Treasury, and they are not small.
