Summary/Abstract: Telemedicine, as a form of providing health services, undoubtedly facilitates contact between the doctor and the patient but also carries with it some risks resulting from the lack of a personal physical examination. The article aims to present the long-standing legal and ethical standards applicable to a doctor providing telemedicine services and currently ongoing legislative works, including as part of primary health care (poz). The authors also indicate that the rapid development of technology, which provides opportunities for better diagnostics and treatment, also allows the use of other medical professions, which should be covered by the regulations on the provision of telemedicine services. However, this does not change the fact that telemedicine is a form of supplementing traditional medicine, which currently cannot develop without organizational guidelines and standards.
