People’s Artist of Ukraine Anatoly Gorbenko (pages of creative biography)

Summary/Abstract: Anatoly Gorbenko was born in Kirovograd in the time of World War II on February 8, 1944. He graduated from Odessa State Art College M. B. Grekov (1970) and Odessa State Pedagogical Institute K. D. Ushinsky (1982). Professor Anatoly Alexandrovich Gorbenko is a People’s Artist of Ukraine and the winner of Tatyana Yablonskaya award of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. He was awarded a Gold Medal of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts (2019). Anatoly Gorbenko is the first Head and professor of the Chair of “Fine arts” of Odessa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The first personal exhibition of the artist took place in Ilyichevsk (now – Chernomorsk) in 1976. A retrospective exhibition of his works was held at Odessa Fine Arts museum in 2014. Anatoly Gorbenko is Chairman of the Board of Odessa Regional branch of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine from 2007. His personal exhibitions were held in New-York, Baltimore, Florence, Constanta, Budapest, Valencia, Moscow, Genoa, Kiev, Sofia and Varna.
