Summary/Abstract: The destiny and the deeds of Avram Iancu did not only mark the history of the Romanians, but also generated an echo that reverberates until today. He is undoubtedly the hero of the Romanians from Transylvania. Even from the glorious moment of the revolution and the national war, when he was only 24-25 years old, his image was one of a person who does not talk much, but acts. The German material on Avram Iancu is enormous, about 80% of the documents dating back to the XIXth century, while the rest consists of more recent bibliography. An example of - until now - unknown document comes from Tîrgu Mureş, from the DGAN Mureş, a report consisting of 99 pages and adressed to His Majesty, dating back to March 1850.
