Summary/Abstract: Father Ioan Ică Senior performed a very rich didactic, scientific and ecumenical activity. In his capacity as professor of Dogmatic and Symbolic Theology and locum tenens for other disciplines (Missionary Guidance, Byzantinology, Christian Philosophy), he was part of the education of future priests, hierarchs and researchers in theology at the Faculties of Orthodox Theology in Sibiu, Cluj- Napoca and Alba Iulia, he published numerous studies and translations and contributed to the cultivation of interdenominational theological dialogue. As a sign of gratitude, the author talks about the two stages of his relationship with Father Ioan Ică Senior – the first stage, as a student, was one of amazement, fascination towards the erudite teacher, and the second stage, one of counseling, serving together the Institution of Orthodox Theological Education in Cluj-Napoca – and exposes, broadly, his teaching and journalistic activity, highlighting his activity as a confessor of the faith and a teacher of vocation.
