Summary/Abstract: The author examines new realities for competition in the digital economy. The article discloses peculiarities of market behaviour and factors of competitiveness for digital enterprises together with their digital business units. The author has attached special attention to platform companies as the most powerful rivals of the digital era and revealed their main competitive advantages. The author has analysed processes related to concentrating power in the hands of digital giants, as well as nature and manifestations of monopolism in the digital economy. The author has researched directions for amending antitrust legislations in countries where platform companies function the most actively (Germany, the USA, Australia, and China).
