Summary/Abstract: Out of the total 16 fines imposed by the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data in Romania, during the period of May – November 2021, most of them concerned the violation of the provisions regarding the principles relating to processing of personal data (art. 5), lawfulness of processing (art. 6) and security of processing (art. 32). ANSPDCP applied fines totalling 122,594.24 RON and ordered 7 corrective measures to bring processing operations into compliance with the provisions of the GDPR. We intend to present the situation starting from the public information available on the website of the national authority, as approaching in promoting the legal provisions of GDPR as well as the rights of the data subjects, according to the same regulation.
