The sage's quarrel with the reaction. George Călinescu and political journalism (1946-1949)

Summary/Abstract: In this article, we analyze the relationship between intellectuals and the political factor during the process of the communization of Romania carried out after August 23 1944, through the study of the editorials signed by G. Călinescu, editorial director of the newspaper Națiunea (The Nation). Our research highlights the public discourse used by the „fellow travelers” of that period by highlighting in the public discourse of G. Călinescu the abandonment of „aesthetics” in favor of politics.
