Systems-Design Approach to Solving Local Problems of Safety and Public Order

Summary/Abstract: The article addresses the questions of possibilities and conditions of integrating systems thinking and design thinking as a promising approach to solving local problems of safety and public order. It presents the assumptions and expectations concerning the use of a systems thinking approach as well as the attributes and possibilities of design thinking in designing solutions which improve safety. It proposes a methodical approach that integrates these two ways of thinking in terms of their suitability for solving safety problems.
