Based on its own research, conducted in 2015 in rural areas outside the specially protected areas, paper points on significant differences in the perception of the importance of the economic, social and environmental benefits by local entrepreneurs in tourism. The naturally based conditions of tourism dominated in the analyzed regions; they are thus the main condition for the (sustainable) development of tourism. It is also necessary to adequately promote, maintain and protect these environmentally based conditions. However, the interest in monitoring of environmental impacts and benefits is minimal, often coupled with a low awareness of stakeholders. The paper discusses about the need to transfer the hitherto prevailed social perception of the tourism benefits and impacts into individual decisions of individual businessmen and landowners, including those involved in tourism development indirectly. All of this on examples of environmental impacts and benefits perception.

- Summary/Abstract:One of the aims of regional policy is an attempt to mitigate regional disparities through the employment. In areas with the appropriate pre-requisites, the development of domestic and inbound tourism can also contribute to reducing regional disparities. From the management perspective, the ability of the destination to develop and adapt its resources, the existence of a destination management organization, and the coordination of links to neighbouring destinations, with an emphasis on the exchange of experiences and the creation of joint tourism products, are all of fundamental importance for the development of tourism. The effects of tourism on the local level can be measured regularly. There are two different approaches to capturing cash flow, dividing it into the demand-oriented (expenditure of tourists) and the supply-oriented (income of tourism entities). Particular attention is paid to the impact of tourism on job creation. The economic impact of tourism in the local economy must be evaluated in terms of the direct, indirect and induced effects. In the Czech Republic, roughly 225,000 people are employed in tourism, and according to the Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) Employment module, tourism‘s share of total employment is 4.46 %. Thanks to the activities of tourism, the total number of employees in the city of Český Krumlov, taking into account the number of beds in individual types of accommodation establishments and the impact of seasonality, is 3,082 people. If we included the effect of the shadow economy, which is important in the travel and tourism industry, it can be considered up to 3,700 employed persons. If we did not address the fact that a number of employees commuting into the city and there is not a resident, it would be in the tourism sector employed about 41.5 % of the total productive population living in the city.
