Summary/Abstract: A monograph consisting of 16 texts by authors from various academic centers, which align their content with the realm of issues within the domain of social theory and practice of physical education, sports, and Olympism. The authors thereby address physical activity alongside health promotion, realized notably within school physical education, extracurricular activities, as well as through additional personal endeavors, as a significant factor contributing to holistic, multidimensional development in diverse contexts. Several authors emphasize this aspect particularly within the circumstances of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the issue of postural defects primarily stemming from a sedentary lifestyle. The research findings presented by the authors diagnose the pedagogical reality of physical education, sports, and Olympism, indicating potential directions for their evolution, while also posing new questions.

- Summary/Abstract:Taking up the issue of Olympism, we cannot ignore Pierre de Coubertin, who designed its general organizational and axiological framework. From the perspective over a hundred years of time, we can say that out of many possible scenarios for the development of sport, this was done with the Olympic idea in the lead role. However, the purpose of the study is to answer the questions: What would be the world and sport without Coubertin? Has the future global success of the Games been the result of Coubertin’s conceptual and organizational activities or the expression of the needs of the objective world? Two conceptions were used in the paper: the individualistic concept assumes that the motive power of all processes can be an individual human initiative and socio-deterministic construct, in which individual entities are only pawns of historical necessity. Considering the different socio-cultural conditions of the world at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and modern times, Coubertin’s merits include the implementation of the ancient Olympic idea in modern terms, the introduction of ethical principles into sport through Olympic Education, the internationalization of the local idea of the Greek Games and the organizational form of the International Olympic Committee.

- Summary/Abstract:The article has strictly a theoretical and non-empirical character. The author presents examples resulting from various observations. The aim of the paper is to present the causes, functions, and results of fouls, fouling, and foul play. Although fouls do not comply with the rules of games, the paper demonstrates that fouls are often used; they enjoy a quiet acceptance of the sporting world; they are tolerated and accepted; even more, they are often - more or less explicitly – desirable. The author employed the idiographic method (descriptive), that is, an approach typical for the general methodology applied in the non-empirical humanities and social sciences; the analytical method (referring to the British analytical philosophy);the nomothetic method (explanatory), the approach based on exegesis and hermeneutics of cultural texts utilized in order to create a closer understanding of the phenomenon of foul; the axiological method (evaluating of the use of foul);and the synthetic method, which was mainly used in the summary and the abstract. Author also applied a specific methodology, which refers to interpretationism based, in this case, on a genetic approach (referring to the sources and causes of phenomenon of foul), as well as on a realistic and empathetic approach.

- Summary/Abstract:The study is focused on the physical education teacher, it contains information on the teaching profession in the specialty of physical education as well as the figure of the physical tutor present in the literature on the subject in the field of pedeutology and physical culture. More important information has been collected in the form of studies and research results about the physical education teacher created over a hundred years of the real functioning of this topic in the literature. The author used his own studies in this area contained in several articles found in the post-conference materials. They contain reflections and comments on four main areas of concern. The first one focuses on the history of the formation of the specialty of physical education and the formulation of reflections on the specialist teacher. The second covers the topic of competencies and qualifications required in the profession of physical tutor, which is the most widely present in the literature, including the discussion about authority and its sources. The third concerns the widely understood and changing conditions of the work of a physical tutor and the consequences for the teacher and the process itself. In the final part of the article a historical review of initiatives and institutions for educating physical educators was presented.

- Summary/Abstract:One of the current areas of theoretical considerations and scientific research in the field of physical culture sciences is the development of creativity of students (at various levels of education) and their creative abilities, which is supposed to take place through the use of various educational forms – plays, games, activities or tasks that help develop specific dispositional characteristics of a young person. In these studies, very often (taking into account the review of the world literature), great importance is attached to adapted physical activity, which, thanks to its diversity and the possibility of wide application, can affect not only the aspects of motor and movement skills of children, but also – by stimulating selected structures brain – for the development of various cognitive functions. At the same time, the importance of exercises involving strictly creativity training in the process of modern physical education is described, where the use of selected didactic methods is to contribute, among others, to the increase of students' interest in activities based on physical involvement. An example of such a method are tasks using EduBalls and mini-EduBalls, which allow students to combine physical activity (gross and fine movement skills and basic motor skills) with their education (in the area of language, graphomotor and mathematical skills) or stimulation of cognitive structures, which was confirmed in numerous studies.

- Summary/Abstract:Physical activity is one of the most characteristic and natural features of the early stages of human development. Among children at the preschool age, physical development begins with spontaneous movement expression, with natural, poorly coordinated movements, which are gradually improved, often leading to excessive control or inhibition in adulthood. The civilizational progress and contemporary early education models focused on intensifying educational content mean that the youngest spend a significant part of their time sitting on a rug or at school benches. In many cases, meeting the need for exercise is limited, the role of physical education in the development of a child is marginalised, and the youngest are restricted from taking active forms of behaviour, which leads to the progressive elimination of the body's natural kinetics. The proposed creative methods of physical and health education in teacher's work with the youngest, oriented to the "creative movement", fulfil children's physical needs. Thanks to spontaneity and freedom, they allow children to express themselves creatively and support their comprehensive development, thus realising elementary paradigms, premises, and determinants characterising contemporary preschool education's primary goals and tasks.

The aim of the study was to get to know the opinions of physical education teachers on distance teaching, which was in the scope of their responsibilities. Among the advantages of remote teaching, the surveyed teachers emphasised the use of modern technologies in practice (67,6%), an easier implementation of the content of the Core Curriculum (CC) related to health education (34,2%), and for 27% of teachers, the remote teaching gave the possibility of greater control and independence of students. Among the shortcomings, the respondents indicated primarily the inability to carry out tasks correctly (72,2%). Moreover, the negative aspects included limited contact with students (61,9%), as well as difficulties in implementing the content of the CC in terms of physical development and physical fitness (57,3%). The surveyed group of the physical education teachers mostly reacted well to the crisis situation, using their creativity, available sources, as well as multimedia possibilities. Undoubtedly, the epidemic situation has shown how comprehensive the preparation of teachers for work in the modern education system should be.

- Summary/Abstract:The purpose of the fragment of the results of our own research presented in the article was to find out the opinions of students of selected specialties of the pedagogy faculty of the Faculty of Education Sciences of the University of Łódź on remote education and to determine any differences between the respondents studying early childhood education and physical and health culture. The diagnostic survey method and survey technique were used to conduct the study. A specially constructed survey questionnaire was filled out by 127 students, including 96 women and 31 men, 61 studying physical and health culture specialties and 66 female students of early childhood education. The results of the study were statistically analyzed by assessing the statistical significance of the differences using the chi-square test. The results show that more than half of the respondents have a negative attitude toward distance education, including more physical and health culture students than female early childhood pedagogy students. According to the students, the system limits contact with peers and instructors, does not encourage further work, and is unable to clarify nagging problems. The main advantages of e-learning were found to be cost-effectiveness, time-saving, and the possibility of learning anywhere at any time.

- Keywords:physical education; sport; social competencies; fair play
- Summary/Abstract:This article examines prosocial behaviours and the perception of understanding fair play rule as a principle in the context of physical education and sport in adolescents participating in sports, and those not undertaking sports at all. The main aim of this research is to explore and indicate potential connections between understanding of the idea of fair play and selected prosocial behaviours (e.g., abiding by the rules, respecting decisions of the referee and sportsmanship) in youth. In total, 1257 secondary school students, aged 16.1 ± 0.87 years (627 girls and 600 boys), were interviewed. For assessing the level of fair play awareness (P), the Fair Play Moral Dimensions Concept Scale was used. To measure the confirmed level of prosocial behaviours of school students, the survey My Physical Education Class was used. Participants were divided into groups based on their training experience (no sports at all, amateur sports enthusiast, professional sports athlete). Then subgroups according to their understanding of the Fair Play principle (P1 to P3) were designed The results show significant differences in all dilemmas in various groups in relation to scores in subgroup P3 (p = 0.056; p = 0.012; p = 0.003) regarding subgroups P2 and P1 in the level of understanding fair play. Overall, the percentage of respondents who view fair play rule only in the context of sport (P1) is 69%. Far fewer (31%) are those who understand it more broadly as a principle that applies to everyday life situations (P3). Therefore we state that it is crucial to promote moral development during Physical education and sports process, especially the value of respect. For that reason, we need well educated PE teachers and sport couches.

- Summary/Abstract:In recent years, the personal trainer profession has been characterised by high dynamics of development and exclusivity due to the individual form of work and the cost of the service. An important element of the trainer's wide range of competences is the ability to act ethically in working with the client. It is extremely important because the profession of a personal trainer consists mainly in direct contact with clients. The high ethical standards of the trainer strengthen their authority, build credibility and increase trust and consequently translates into the prestige of its own brand. In the course of improving the ethical efficiency of trainers, ethical codes also seem to be worth attention. Their assumptions are presented in the second part of the text. The aim of the article is to show the ethical aspects of the behaviour of personal trainers and their confrontation with accepted standards.

What determines the identity of a particular sport as a phenomenon of belonging to the same sphere of existence and the same field of human experience? Who is the artist in the circle of light? The answers to these questions will be taken through the prism of the concept of the unity of human virtues, as well as by referring to the tradition of Olympia from a historical, axiological, and essential perspective. Originally conceived, corporeality is the material of the art of sport as the material foundation of a specific and independent whole.
