- Summary/Abstract:The situation of school, universities, parents, children and ourselves provokes us to consider the answer to the question: ‘What next?’. The organization of the life of learners and educators, which forced both parties to spend a long time in front of computer monitors, resulted in a significant reduction in the time devoted to physical activity. The closure of many institutions and restriction of access to sports and recreational infrastructure triggered creative mechanisms among many physical education teachers. In many cases, the parents’ view of the work of the school and teachers has changed. The presented work is a study devoted to the researcher’s reflections on the consequences of epidemiological limitations in our society.

- Summary/Abstract:Before the occurrence of COVID-19, experts on the issues of a broadly understood physical culture informed about the exigence of departing from scientific advances of modern technology (computers, mobile phones etc.) in favour of various forms of physical activity, However, it is for modern technologies, presumably, that all education, as well as, common human relationships during the still lasting pandemic would be downright impossible. Physical Education has gone through revolutionary changes in the recent years and the pandemic has even deepened earlier problems and dilemmas. Since the first lockdown in March 2020, the Physical Education lessons online have raised most controversies. However, it is the pandemic which made, on the one hand the intramural form of running the subject appreciated and, on the other hand, the dissatisfaction with Physical Education grew up, which was the result of pandemic restrictions. Currently, an increased interest in Physical Education lessons is being observed as they are supposed to be a tool of prevention against the consequences of long-lasting isolation, hypokinesia and obesity. Different forms of attempts of return to the so called „normality” are being undertaken and one of them is the project of active comeback to school named „PE with PE Academy”. The development of Physical Education and its methods are strictly connected with the development of social organisation, thus, in the nearest future, further changes/modifications in core curriculum should be expected, which would incorporate activities of an intelectual character, such as e-sport or chess. The aim of the present work is to bring closer the issues related to Physical Education with special attention to pandemic turbulences.

- Summary/Abstract:Physical education is a form of youth participation in physical culture and it is a special part of it. Apart from sports and physical recreation, physical education aims to prepare the young generation to participate in physical culture. However, this preparation is understood differently. Originally, movement classes at school were aimed at body gymnastics with the intention of strengthening the health of exercising youth, thus preparing them for an active life. Currently, according to the humanistic concept of physical education, it aims to shape the personality of the pupil, his attitudes and beliefs towards physical culture. This change has significant implications for the effects and quality of physical education. The article discusses the quality of modern physical education in the context of the pedagogical changes made in its goals and, consequently, its content.

- Language:Polish

- No. of Pages:15
- Keywords:referee; rugby; pedagogical function; children sport; educational practice
- Summary/Abstract:The instructional support of players shall be the responsibility of the referees as a part of their educational function in children and youth sports. Hence the main purpose of the research was to assess the quality of the rugby referees with players aged 6‒12 during sports competition in terms of instructing of players and decision communicating. The study was conducted among 23 rugby referees. The structured observation method was used. The observation was conducted using a wireless intercom that allows listening to verbal messages directed to the players. Furthermore, the referee’s work was recorded using a camera. The significance of differences between indicators was tested using the Chi-square goodness-of-fit test. The non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test for two independent samples was used to assess differences in ratings of the quality of referee-players’ interactions in groups distinguished by referee’s experience. Furthermore, Wilcoxon’s signed-rank test was employed to assess the quality of the interactions between the two dependent variables studied (instructing and decision communicating). The observations showed that the average rating of instructing and decision communicating, measured on a seven-point scale, was ‘average’ in both dimensions (4,13 pts. and 5,04 pts. respectively). These are areas in which referees can improve. Results lead to the following conclusions: 1. The contents of rugby referees’ training course training should include problems children’s developmental needs; 2. The content of the ability to communicate deci¬sions appropriately should be included in training programs, as they are not without significance for the educational experience of young athletes; 3. Observers and evaluators of the work of judges of relevant sports associations should draw the attention of judges to the obligation to respond to the cognitive needs of children and young people related to the ignorance of the rules of the game or problems with their interpretation.

- Summary/Abstract:Physical development is an important determinant in child’s general development, mental development included. Physicians, pedagogists, psychologists, teachers, and individuals involved in sport had emphasized the relationship between physical activity and learning as well as its meaning for educational skills even before Poland regained independence. But it was in the interwar period that people became generally aware of the fact that properly directed physical facility supports physical, mental, emotional, and moral development of a human being. Physical activity gained its value as an ingredient of a comprehensively developed personality as a result of, among other things, obligatory education. To raise interest of the younger generation in the maintenance of physical fitness and the development of proper habits or the skill of doing sports became one of the key tasks of school in those years. The purpose of this work is to present an interesting initiative of the Łódź local government which consisted in the opening of a dozen or so playgrounds for children and teenagers in the city. The playgrounds were open to public both in the summer and winter season. They were used by entire families. The city authorities tried to fit them with appropriate sports equipment. Instructors were also employed to organize physical activities for children and teenagers. In the summer of 1931, the Łódź authorities opened 27 playgrounds in several places, including city parks (Poniatowskiego, Źródliska, Kolejowy, and 3 Maja) as well as in Sienkiewicza and Staszica streets and certain other streets in the city.

One of the more and more popular ideas today is age management – a solution that uses the value of generational diversity to comprehensively take care of employee resources. An important area of implementing this idea is concern for the health and safety of the participants of the organization. The study presents the results of research illustrating the assessment of selected practices, aimed at the protection and promotion of employeesʼ health. 757 employees aged 20–78 participated in the study. The study used the Job Satisfaction Scale, the Organizational Commitment Scale and a proprietary questionnaire, taking into account organizational practices in the field of health protection and promotion. Frequency distributions, Spearmanʼs rank correlation analysis, and crosstabs with chisquare tests were counted. The respondents rated the organizationʼs activity in the area of care for the safety of working conditions and risk control the highest. An important determinant of organizational activities is the type of organizational climate. Significant positive relationships between the frequency of the companyʼs activities for the protection of employees’ health and satisfaction with work and organizational commitment were revealed.
