Summary/Abstract: The current state of internal and external policies of the Russian Federation is examined. Analyzed the obvious resources for preserving the national security of the Russian Federation under power, the main trends in the socio-economic and internal political life of Russia, and its external political interests and means of achieving geopolitical goals. The main scenarios for the development of the situation related to the implementation of the Kremlin’s course to renew its imperial status, including the reintegration of the post-Soviet space, confrontation with the West, have been identified expanding Russia's presence in strategically important regions of the world. The report was prepared by the Center for Research on Problems of the Russian Federation of the National Institute for Strategic Research.
