- Summary/Abstract:In many regions of the Russian Federation as well as in the Republic of Tatarstan we can witness the situation when the education is conducted using one language and at home the communication is performed using another language. Bilingualism in modern Russia is a wide spread phenomena. Bilingual people are people who can communicate in two or more languages in different environments both monolingual and bilingual in accordance with their sociocultural needs. Bilinguality is closely connected with the phenomena of double nature of cultural sensitivity. Peculiarities of the second language education have always been a topic of deep interest for a lot of scientists. Therefore a special branch closely connected to psycholinguistics appeared. The following article studies the questions connected with the problems which arise when bilingual students take Unified National Exam in the Russian language. The exam checks the following competencies of students: linguistic proficiency (system of the language, main language terms), language proficiency (main language rules), communicative proficiency (speech skills). Experience has proven that bilingual students show lack of such competencies. The research gives classification of the most wide spread mistakes students make when Russian is not their mother language. The basis for the research is represented by the written works of the students whose native language is Tartar. We analyze test tasks (with the possibility to choose the answer), compositions where students were supposed to show their skill to point out one of the problems mentioned by the author in the source text, to comment on this problem, to formulate the author’s position, to express their own point of view, to give arguments on their point of view and to make conclusions. We use method of comparative analysis of unrelated languages. Special attention is paid to the peculiarities of bilingual children teaching in the Russian environment. We have pointed out several recommendations for teaching of the Russian language in bilingual classes aiming to eliminate the mistakes pointed out in the article.

Similarly, a new approach should be introduced in the process of learning and teaching a foreign language with the use of literary texts. Accordingly, the article will propose certain solutions to this problem and describe workable means of arriving at them.

Активный двуязычный словарь в парадигме антропоцентрической лексикографии
Активный двуязычный словарь в парадигме антропоцентрической лексикографии
(Active bilingual dictionary in the paradigm anthropocentric lexicography)
- Author(s):Tatiana Alexandrovna Tripolskaya, Elena Yurievna Bulygina
- Language:Russian
- Subject(s):Foreign languages learning, Lexis, Pragmatics, Eastern Slavic Languages, Philosophy of Language, Philology
- Page Range:128-139
- No. of Pages:12
- Keywords:lexicography; active dictionary; integrated dictionary entry; bilingual lexicography;
- Summary/Abstract:The general idea of the dictionary of active type was introduced by A. Rey and S. Delesalle: «a dictionary begins to live from the moment when it presents not only meaning of the words but their functioning» (1983). The concept of active dictionary was further developed in Russian studies. If A. Rey and S. Delesalle focused on pragmatic information in a dictionary entry, Russian lexicographers discuss the problem of the relation between linguistic and encyclopedic information in the dictionary, offering to "walk away" from the minimization of the classical dictionaries (Gak 1988). In the modern theoretical lexicography it is of importance to create a universal/active dictionary: the purpose of the dictionary, the recipient, the amount of lexicographic information, methods of presentation, sources and metalanguage (Apresyan 2014). The main concepts of the active bilingual lexicography are reflected in the French-Russian dictionary of active type, which has a different purpose than active monolingual dictionaries and "aims to show explicitly relationships between language and speech: … show the transition from a system of word meaning and its translation to typed contextual meanings and their translation, noting the diverse resources available to the target language to convey various meanings of the source language" (Gak, Triomphe 1998). The authors follow cognitive-encyclopedic trend, including not typical for a bilingual dictionary information about the thematic groups ("soccer" and "chess" vocabulary, kinship terms, card games, etc.), about the composition and functioning, for example, causal verbs, speech genres of the fear, the prohibition, as well as the ways of expressing the questioning and the negation, etc. – information that facilitates the development of system and functional parameters of the language. In this case, we can speak about a different recipient of the dictionary – about the user who is mastering a foreign language. The user simultaneously receives knowledge of language and knowledge about language. Pragmatic information (the emotional-evaluative, national, cultural, ideological, gender, social, etc.) is not conceptually comprehended as an object of lexicographic description and it is presented incompletely, inconsistently and it is often controversial.

- No. of Pages:9
- Keywords:individually felt language lacuna; author’s individual concept; metaphor; sphere of human inner world;
- Summary/Abstract:In national cultures rich in fiction, like the Russian and English cultures, there is a layer of literary descriptions of such mental phenomena as feelings, states of mind, different ways of thinking etc., for which a national language has no well-known brief (single-word or idiomatic) names. These descriptions of individual experience are open to a reader’s understanding and can be memorized due to their figurativeness and to the use of metaphor as a means of thinking, and if an author gives the described phenomena brief names, they may become part of the national lexicon as well; in this case an author’s individual concept can become national. Taking into account the present interest of linguoculturology in language lacunae and in words with no direct equivalents in other languages, we suggest an operational term ‘an individually felt language lacuna’ to denote the absence of a brief conventional name for a phenomenon of great personal value; filling of such lacunae is a well-known detail of a writer’s work. The article considers examples of representation of authors’ individual concepts from works by Osip Mandelstam, Vladimir Nabokov, Joseph Brodsky, John Fowles, Viktor Pelevin (the names are listed here in the chronological order of their works under study).

- Author(s):Elena Ivanovna Kolosova
- Language:Russian
- Subject(s):Morphology, Syntax, Eastern Slavic Languages
- Page Range:185-193
- No. of Pages:9
- Keywords:Russian language; verb formation; grammatical synonymy; literary norm; communication;
- Summary/Abstract:The Russian language is characterized by a big number of parallel forms at the level of verb formation which can be the reason for a lot of problems when communicating. At the same time the problem ofvariability in the Russian literary language at the level the verb formation hasn’t yet been studied thoroughly in spite of the careful attention paid to the verb category research by scientists. In the past there were more parallels ofthis kind and modern period of the development is still marked by some variations in choosing the verb form. This means that the problem of variation is still a topical problem of the linguistics. However there are not strict rules for the usage of these variations of the verb forms and it can lead to some problems when teaching the Russian language. Detailed study of each type of the variation in the history of the language gives an opportunity to propose perspectives of the phenomena development and will help to create general rules for the forms usage. The following article studies double parallels the verb forms have at the modern stage of the Russian language development. First of all these are verb forms of the present tense ending in –ать (for example каплет и капает, машет и махает etc); variative forms of the past tenses in verbs with suffix -ну- (for example (мокнул и мок etc) an the others. When teaching Russian as a foreign language one should pay attention to the usage of these parallel forms in the speech, accompany the teaching with available historic comments; give recommendations about the usage of these forms in accordance with their stylistic and semantic differentiation in the language. We consider this deviation from the norms of the modern language to be the common feature of all forms.

This article attempts to describe the language situation in Ukraine. On one hand, even after the independence proclamation and assertion of status of Ukrainian as the state language, a considerable part of population continues to speak Russian. On the other hand, restriction of the spheres of Russian usage, and insufficient Ukrainian language competence of representatives from various professional fields has led to the the promotion of a general expansion of a phenomenon known as surzhyk. One of the spheres of living, where Ukrainian takes the main position during independence on the territory of almost all state, is the sphere of education. Although, a consequence of this situation in many cases is pupils’ passive mastery of Ukrainian. Even after attempts of realizing serious state educational programs, we realistically do not have hopes to increase the level of Ukrainian mastery. At secondary schools Ukrainian is studied as a subject, but, according to the poll, taken by our scientists, it doesn’t influence on the quality and quantity of communication in Ukrainian in private and public life. Ukrainians of different ages, members of various social groups, and residents of some regions participated in the poll. This poll is empiric base of the given research. One of the results of this poll is that most respondents’ recognized the irrationality of the removal of Russian as a compulsory language from school curriculum. The poll results have helped to determine the peculiarities of linguistic identity of representatives of different generations, and show tendencies to form linguistic identity of Ukrainian pupils.

- Language:Russian
- Subject(s):Poetry, Lexis, Semantics, Descriptive linguistics, Russian Literature, Stylistics
- Page Range:266-271
- No. of Pages:6
- Keywords:linguistic analysis; perceptual semantics; «quietness»; «silence»;
- Summary/Abstract:In the article linguistic means of verbalization of «quietness» and «silence» images and their role in a creation of the text are considered. Lexical and syntactic units with perceptual semantics represent author's world perception and allow to convey desirable impressions and senses brightly and precisely. The individual description of «quietness» and «silence» results from various semantic and syntactic transformations (for example, replacement of some lexical units in the phraseological locution, "threading" of cognate words, use of synonyms, etc.). Research of linguistic units with semantics of «quietness» and «silence» in stylistic aspect allows to say that the author uses such figures of speech as a metaphor, personification, a metonymy, contrast, an oxymoron, inversion. It is important that the personification of «silence» is directly connected with semantics of the movement. «Silence» is ubiquitous, it promotes enlightenment, provokes cogitative activity and imagination. Traditionally the silence is built in an associative array "dream" - "winter" - "death". The partial linguistic analysis of poems "Oath" and "Silence" confirms thought of the importance of the studied perceptual images in poetic creativity of B. Pasternak. In the first case, the poem is under construction by the principle of contrast from «loud sounding» (holiday) to «lack of sounding / deafness». In the second, on the contrary: from total absence of sounds to silent sounding and its strengthening (besides structural-semantic device of contrast syntactic reception of interchange is also used). Images of «quietness» and «silence» in B. Pasternak's poetry are semantically and structurally significant, and linguistic means of their representation need to be considered as specific characteristics of the author's individual style.

- Author(s):Aleksandra Arturovna Kudryashova
- Language:Russian
- Subject(s):Fiction, Russian Literature, Theory of Literature
- Page Range:289-299
- No. of Pages:11
- Keywords:Russian autobiographical prose; initial event; initial impression; motive; individual style; pathos;
- Summary/Abstract:The article deals with a key structural component of autobiography based fiction. Images and impressions of childhood are considered both as the initial point of artists' (writers') creativity and their individual creative styles. A special category is needed to describe this phenomenon: the initial event ('pervichnoe sobytie' - Rus.). The category was offered by Dr. Irina Mineralova in early 2010s to state the initial episode in the plot of Russian autobiography based fiction dedicated to childhood. In our paper, we have broadened the mentioned category by understanding the initial event as initial impression which determines the interrelation of artists and the world they are living in and interpreting in their creative writing. Thus, the initial event ('pervichnoe sobytie') is referred to as a corner stone of an artist co-existence (so-bytie - Rus.) with other elements of their environment and even the Universe. The beginning of individual life corresponds to the Genesis through the unique artist's viewpoint. As the genre presupposes, autobiographical novels combine the documentary and fictional, facts of history and real lives with images of creative work. An author is taken as a creative phenomenon whose personality is reflected in the style and manner of their writing. The study is based on a wide range of pieces of classical Russian literature (XIX-XX centuries), from Alexander Herzen and Leo Tolstoy to Ivan Bunin and Ivan Shmelvyov.

- Author(s):Kadiša Rustembekovna Nurgali
- Language:Russian
- Subject(s):Fiction, Russian Literature, Theory of Literature
- Page Range:300-304
- No. of Pages:5
- Keywords:literary view of the world; writer; view of the world; visual world; literary world;
- Summary/Abstract:The terms “the world of a piece of fiction”, “literary world”, “world view” in literary criticism and criticism are often used interchangeably, which characterizes the entire set of elements that make up a work of literature. The study of the world of works of literature has its roots in D. S. Likhachev’s works who first spoke of “the inner world of a work of fiction”. To date, in literary criticism there is no definite list of those “elements” that make up the literary view of the world. Thus, according to V. A. Halizev, the world of a piece of fiction includes the psyche of human beings, their consciousness, and makes up both reality “thingish” and “personal” reality. M. L. Gasparov proposed including in the concept “Literary world” a list of events that are reflected in the work of literature, the socalled “catalog of images”. At the same time the term “literary view of the world is relatively new, having come in the literature of linguistics. Thus, the artistic picture of the world” of the writer seems to be a phenomenon that is “narrower” than the literary world. The view of the world of the writer is a set of specific identifiable components that make up the basis of the visual world, while the literary world represents a collection of all the elements that make up a work of literature.

- Language:Russian
- Subject(s):Fiction, Metaphysics, Social Philosophy, Russian Literature, Culture and social structure , Theory of Literature
- Page Range:305-315
- No. of Pages:11
- Keywords:Andrey Platonov; N. G. Chernyshevsky; A. Blok; the letters; the cultural code;
- Summary/Abstract:Letters of A. Platonov could be regarded not only as a personal document or a biographical source to comment works of fiction. While integrated they make up a comprehensive inherently valued text with the main focus on the correspondence with the bride and later his wife Maria Kashintseva. The author’s intention to see in his feeling of love not only his personal psychological state but also revealed vibrations of the Universe, the wish to make his private life a common property and to represent it as a cultural pattern remind us of the much the same experience of N. G. Chernyshevsky and A. Blok. All of them regarded themselves as a “new individual” whose feelings were supposed to bring revelation to the world. Thus, they preserved their personal experience in different types of texts (both personal and literary texts). A. Platonov inherits his predecessors’ creative life strategy in a new historical environment; therefore he transforms established cultural patterns. His human nature combines rational features of N. G. Chernyshevsky and metaphysical background of A. Blok. In his letters to the bride A. Platonov uses the cultural code of A. Blok, while in the correspondence with his wife he applies to the cultural code introduced by N. G. Chernyshevsky. In his love experience A. Platonov combined two lines of Russian public opinion: social Utopia and mysticism. His destiny is a tool to measure the level of the humanistic self-sufficiency of the public opinions mentioned above.
