Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with regional education taught at schools in Slovakia. The theoreticalpart provides an analysis of the relation between multicultural education in the global world andregional education with its individual dimensions and possibilities provided in this field by theschool environment. The authors also present selected results of the empirical research they haveconducted, claiming that in recent years the issue of regional education has duly been in focusand, accordingly, teachers are willing to creatively transfer the recommendations of curriculardocuments into their everyday practice. In this way, they cooperate with pupils’ parents in themain, as well as with local organizations.
