Summary/Abstract: The text focuses on the advertising materials printed in the post-liberation press of Plovdiv, bringing out the connection with the advertisements from the revival press in an attempt to trace the changes and trends in the formation of advertising messages and the identification of some specific groups of customers. The advertisements published in the “Plovdiv” newspaper, published in the period 1886 – 1907, were analyzed, divided into two large groups: advertisements of goods and advertisements of services. Some features of the function of advertising among the Plovdiv population are brought out, as well as the forms of construction of advertising materials and messages, characteristic of the post-liberation press. An attempt has also been made to reconstruct the mosaic picture of the world of Plovdiv residents from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, assembled from individual newspaper materials advertising goods and services.
