Summary/Abstract: Teachers’ responses to student peer violence influence the current and future behaviour of bullies and victims. Teachers’ attitudes and their interventions also mediate the effectiveness of the antibullying programs. The subject of the text is to analyze the sense of self-efficacy as a factor determining teacher’s behavior in a situation of bullying among students. It turns out that both low self-efficacy in intervening in peer violence and too high certainty seem to be related to the ineffectiveness of actions limiting the problem of violence at school.
