Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the issue of strangeness experienced by the two largest linguistic groups of Switzerland, which are the German-speaking and the French speaking Swiss. The analysis of the subject literature, press discourse and interviews with the German-speaking Swiss and the French-speaking Swiss from Romandy shows different dimensions of this strangeness (linguistic, ideological, social), also referring to its latest form related to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
