Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with Music Theory as an essential part of education in elementary art schools. This focuses on the issue of Music Theory within School Education Programme on the background of this year´s research of the Music Department. This paper also discusses issues of the complexity of Music Theory in terms of fields of study taught within this subject and various forms of activities that might enrich the teaching of Music Theory.
