Summary/Abstract: Currently, the content of elementary education is being reviewed and this process should be completed by 2020. It is very difficult to define the content of elementary education for the educational field of Health education. It must be taken into account that the themes and the learning content of Health education overlaps with other educational areas, fields and cross-curricular subjects. The objective of the paper is to emphasise the problematic areas of existing proposals on the review of the educational content of Health education, and instigate discussion on this issue. Specifically, the paper describes specific review proposals concerning various themes for which the authors define problematic areas. In the final part the following conclusion is made: The educational area Man and the world of work is a suitable complement to the learning content on nutrition. An obvious overlap is between Health education and Natural history and Citizenship education. The authors believe that the comments will contribute to a high-quality review of the educational content of Health education.
