Summary/Abstract: Oral tales are created to be alive and changeable. Until they get written down. The narrator inserted culturological norms of the collective awareness into the fairy tale. The distancing awareness of the modern reader, not listener, does not imply the same contents and layers as normative, therefore reading in modern time requires problematization and deconstruction of the implied contents and norms. The question we try to answer in this paper is whether that problematization is relevant for interpretation of the text or just for dynamic, culturologically determined reception of a modern reader. Is reading and interpreting based on the genre the only correct way, or is it possible to read in new ways that open new horizons for old role of the fairy tales?
